    1. Banned and Conditional - When making your character or clan, please follow the banned and conditional guide.

    2. Character Rank - When you’re making a character make sure to meet all the requirements for the rank you are making, which are highlighted within the character rank guide. New members’ starting ranks can be Genin or Academy Student. You can only make a rank from scratch if it says so on the rank progression guide.

    3. Approvals - When you finish your character it’ll take one approval before they can be roleplayed with. Clans will only require one approval as well.

    4. Unfinished Profiles - While it is highly encouraged that you do not post your character until it is finished, we all understand having to be pulled away in the middle of things. If this happens just make sure to post the character with a WIP in the title so we know.

    5. Character & Clan Templates – When you’re making your character or clan, be sure to read through and follow the proper guide. We allow you to use spoiler tags, but please follow these templates as closely as possible. Any major changes will be required to be changed back before approval can take place

    6. Number of Character & Clans - You are allowed to make as many characters and clans as you want, there is no limit. With that in mind, however, please use discretion. If you have 100 characters, you obviously won't be able to roleplay all of them. A good median is one character per village. Also, keep in mind when creating a character your first character cannot belong to a minor village.

    7. Number of Accounts - You are only allowed to have one account. You are allowed to keep as many characters as you want on that account. If you already have more than one account with characters or clans on it, you can have them transferred over to the account you want to make your main.

    8. Chat Box – Members must be respectful to each other and especially admins and moderators within the chat box. All the site rules will also apply within the chat box. Finally there will be absolutely no roleplaying tolerated in the chat box as well.

    9. Post Requirements - There are no requirements about how many words or paragraphs you have to post while Roleplaying. More is not always better, but do be as detailed as you can when roleplaying to avoid vagueness.

    10. Profile Edits - When you want something in your profile to be edited, ask a mod to unapprove it for you. When it is unapproved, make your edits and then post in your character topic and a mod will re-approve it. Profile editing allows the character to be subject to review again, but only one approval is needed for edits.

    11. Unapproval - Only two mods need to have a problem with something in a character for it to be unapproved for edits. An admin can unapprove a character at any time for edits. This can be done no matter who approved the character the first time. Characters will only be unapproved if something major is found wrong with the character.

    12. Moderators/Admins - As a member, if a mod tells you to do something, do it to the best of your ability. If the demand is too harsh you may take it up with an admin for a second opinion. Another mod may not do anything to interfere with another mod.

    13. Backseat Modding - Members are not allowed to post on profiles to review them, even with permission. If you want a member to review your profile, have it be in PM. The exception to this is when someone makes a character in your clan, you are then allowed to post on it and give review.

    14. God Modding - When roleplaying you are only allowed control over your own character. You cannot say another person's character did something, anything, even if it's right. You are not allowed to say another was hit by your attack or anything of the like as well. This rule is void if you have permission from the owner of the character and please state such. If we find out later you did not have permission, your punishment will be twice as bad.

    15. Meta-Gaming - Just because you know something doesn't mean your character does. When roleplaying make sure your character's knowledge remains just what your character can possibly know.

    16. Powerplaying - When roleplaying, you are not to make your character, Jutsu, weapons or etc any stronger than is reasonable or approved. If something is found to be overpowered, you will be asked to change it. If you disagree, you may ask another mod or admin for a second opinion.

    17. Conspiracies - Any attempt to conspire against Ninja Village Rebirth will result in permanent banning. We take it seriously here. Obviously, any hacking will also get you permanently banned.

    18. Flaming - No flaming. By this, we mean purposefully antagonizing other members in order to get a negative response. If this happens in the chat, you will be warned and then chat banned if you do not comply. On the forum, you will be warned and then you will receive a temporary ban if you do not comply (the first time only).

    19. Pornographic Content - Refrain from posting any kind of content that can be labeled as pornographic.

    20. Controversial Subjects - Homosexuality, Politics, Religion, Women's weight, and all other controversial subjects are to NOT be brought up in anyway shape or form both in RP and in chat.

21.* Killing (This is actually one of two places it is listed) - You may not kill anyone lower than a Chunin. (Exceptions can be made if the Genin/Student wants to die). If a topic is labeled as kill-able, anyone/any rank can die at any time. If a person does not want to be killed, they can refrain from their untimely demise ONLY if they are not in a kill-able thread. If they try to back out, they cannot.

*If two Chunin+ shinobi are fighting, and one is about to be killed, and they do not want to die, a mod can intervene. (Unless it is kill-able)

*When a rogue shinobi is involved, they can kill or be killed, even without listing the topic as kill-able. (Accept for Genin/Academy)

All rules are subject to change with little warning or notification. Any major rule changes will be noted in announcements.

Ninja Village Rebirth Frequently Asked Questions

    Q. How do I post my character?
    A. First of all, you should find the Character Creation template in the guides and fill it out in a word document on your computer. Be sure to read through the guides posted here in order to familiarize yourself with the rules here at Ninja Village Rebirth. When you finish filling out the template, be sure to save the character to your computer, as you want to be safe just in case anything were to happen. Next, you can copy and paste your character into a new topic with the topic title as your character's name (Clan name, First name) and the topic description as the village your character resides in. Hit the post topic button and you are done. Smile

    Q. What about names, how do you guys do your names?
    A. Preferably an oriental sounding name, with the family name given first. For example, if your character's clan name or last name is Uchiha, you would list that first, followed by a comma, then the character's first name. Ex. Uchiha, Sasuke. Please steer away from using the names of well-known characters from the series. You can find some awesome Japanese names on google if you would like.

    Q. How old should my character be?
    A. Well, that would mostly depend on your rank. An Academy Student might start going to classes around the young age of eight and they will graduate at around twelve. That means a regular genin will be 12 at the beginning of their ninja career. Here at Ninja Village Rebirth, fresh genin need to be age 12 minimum. Chunin can be anywhere from 13+, and the other ranks are pretty much the same. Kages’, however, are typically older, as wisdom is believed to come with age.

    Q. What is chakra?
    A. Chakra is like a magical energy source within all living things. In the series and on this board, Chakra is molded and channeled through the body to give ninja supernatural abilities called Jutsu. Every ninja has a specific chakra affinity, which means that their chakra leans toward a certain element. Fire, Wind, Earth, Lightning and Water are the five main chakra elements.

    Q. What is a specialty?
    A. A specialty is a special ability that your character trains to perfect during their life as a ninja. A specialty can be something from genjutsu (the art of illusion), to interrogation. Only one specialty is allowed at Genin rank, but your character may choose to specialize in another field at the Jounin rank. Keep in mind that you do not need a specialty, but to be a tokubetsu Jounin, you require one.

    Q. I want to be a character from the show! Can I?
    A. No, sorry but we don't allow cannon characters or even cannon replica characters here. There are too many issues with continuity and it can become far too complicated. Feel free to create your own character, though!

    Q. Well then I want to have a tailed beast in me, can I make one?
    A. Again sorry, but we don't do demon hosts, cursed seals, or any of the other "Super chakra" sources from the show/manga. There are chances for this later, but as of now, no.

    Q. What is a Kekkai Genkai?
    A. A Kekkai Genkai or KG for short, is a special ability a ninja is born with. The Sharingan is an example of a special kind of kekkai genkai called a "Doujutsu" or "Eye Technique", though it is banned here on Ninja Village Rebirth. You are free to create your own Kekkai Genkai if you would like, but it requires the creation of a Clan. You may do so by filling out the clan template located here. Remember: Kekkai Genkais can be very creative and interesting, giving your character cool new abilities, but they are meant to be rare. Try to create a character without one if you can.

    Q. What about the cool fighting arts? I want my character to be super-fast like Lee or block the chakra in people's bodies like Neji! Can I?
    A. It's "The Eight Gates" for Guy and Lee and "Gentle Fist" for the Hyuuga. The gentle fist requires Byakugan/Hyuuga bloodline, and you are not allowed to have the 8 gates available. Cool moves are nice to have in a character, but you want to be able to roleplay the growth of your character. Starting out with everything all at once is not fun.

    Q. Can I have a cool magical weapon?
    A. Well, that depends on the abilities of this weapon. We may allow you to have a sword with minimal abilities, but you must keep it reasonable for your character's rank and size. A 13 year old kid will not be able to wield a 6-7 foot sword and a genin will definitely not be able to handle a sword that could shoot lasers out of its tip. You can expect a lot of resistance on a weapon like this, so keep that in mind.

    Q. Well then what can I have?
    A. You can create your own jutsu, specialized weapons, and almost anything else that fits the theme that you may want for your character. Just be aware that the more powerful / exotic / unusual your creations are, the more discussion they generate among mods, and the slower the approval process gets. (Not trying to put anyone off, but the cool stuff tends to get the staff into some long discussions sometimes.) As long as you describe the abilities of these things in great detail, things should go faster.

    Q. Where do I get jutsu?
    A. You can find the list of all Canon Jutsu on Leafninja.com but you are free to create as many jutsu for your character as you want. As mentioned above, keep it simple and things will go much faster, and make sure to follow your character template.

    Q. How long will it take to have my character accepted?
    A. Wish I had a hard time frame on that one, but it varies from character to character. Some characters have few if any edits needed, and go through in minutes, while others take a long time to get edited into something acceptable. A piece of advice, when you edit your post to make the changes indicated by a mod, make sure that you post in the thread as well, so that we can see you changed it and it needs checked again - If a staff member's post is the last one on the thread the character will be assumed to be awaiting your attention.

    Q. Where does my character go once it's approved?
    A. Your character goes to the Bingo Book when it gets its approval. Depending on which village your character is from, it will go into its specific subforum. If your character is from Sunagakure, it will be moved to the Suna subforum. This is also where approved clans go, however, they go to the Clan subforum.

    Q. So my character is approved and safely stored in the Bingo Book. What now?
    A. Now you can start Roleplaying! Congratulations! Feel free to join any of the open RPs that are already started (this means that you can join any topic -- in your village preferably -- that does not specify that it is reserved for one or more person) or you can create your own RP topic in your village to get things started. Now that you are approved, you can start playing out the life of your brand new ninja. Good luck, and have fun!
