Hokage: Garemāru, Ashuri Empty Hokage: Garemāru, Ashuri

Post by Amira Sun Jun 16, 2019 9:07 pm

    Basic Information
    Name: Garemāru, Ashuri
    Age: 32
    Gender: Female
    Rank: Hokage
    Village/Country: Konoha
    Elemental Affinity: Suiton, Fuuton, Raiton
    Specialty: Genjutsu, Omnirange, Versatility

    Appearance

    Hokage:
Ashuri is tall and trim. Her body is muscular but also elegant and poised. Her frame is in the shape of an hour glass, and though she’s not overly large in the chest, they’re still noticeably plump. Her skin color is a light tan, smooth, soft, and unblemished. It appears to almost shine in its perfection. Her face is oval with slightly higher cheekbones, and a low nose bridge with a rounded nose. Her eyes are prominent but soft with thin styled eyebrows. Her lips are of a softer shade, a perfect size in comparison for the rest of her face. Though not vain, the Hokage does need to keep up appearances and she looks much younger than she actually is.

The woman’s hair is long, silky, and straight. It falls down to her mid back, with her bangs framing her face, and falling into her eyes slightly. Silver in color it also seems to have a radiant shine to it, appearing to have very light purple or pink strands mixed sparingly throughout it. Her eyes are a light clear shade of blue. They’re soft and able to show expression and emotion easily when ok to do so. On the kunochi’s back is a large tattoo that runs from her shoulder blades down to the small of her back. The tattoo itself is in the shape of an eastern dragon. This is the seal of her contract.

For clothing, the Hokage is not the most modest. A white strapped open back shirt covers the front, falling down to just below the tattoo on her back. The shirt itself is designed to be breathable and easy to move around in, while also showing off the tattooed seal. Over the top of this, she wears a red yukata. While red it color, it’s stitching is in white, once again in the design of an eastern style dragon. Along the bottom on the yukata is an embroidered edge, while the dragon stretched from sleeve to sleeve. A yellow sash is wrapped around the top, as well as one used to tie the yukata closed. Yellow braided tassels adorn the yukata in different places. The length of the yukata falls to her mid thighs, the sleeves falling as far down as her knees.

Under the yukata, the kunochi wears white short shorts to keep from showing off anything. Black stockings rise from her feet up her thighs, the tops and inside sides patterned intricately. Otherwise the pattern of the stockings themselves is simply small diamonds. On the woman’s feet are plain reddish black flat sandals. They tie around her ankles, due to her habit of walking on her toes, are more padded in the front than the heels. Around her head is where you’ll find her headband, though she doesn’t always wear it.

    Personality

Ashuri is, like all others of her clan, enlightened. This can be both a blessing as well as a curse to others that meet this woman. A part of this manifests in that she’s always truthful. She believes that there is no reason to not speak the truth when talking to someone else. However this can cause her to be rather blunt. She will speak the truth even if it’s not something the other person wants to hear. Lying is frowned upon greatly by her clan. If there was imminent danger to someone why lie? Tell them the truth, don’t cause a panic, but allow them to have this knowledge to better be able to defend themselves. However, there is a difference between lying and hiding the truth. If it comes in the form of withholding the information in order to protect someone or something else, then she won’t freely talk about things such as that.

While still a kunochi, Ashuri also tends to show mercy to her opponents, and inspires others to do the same. She will not willingly strike someone down and murder them. On the contrary she believes that a true show of strength is not being able to murder someone else, but rather imprison them and spare their life. Due to this belief she would rather talk someone down or take them alive then murder them. This does not mean she’s against killing as a whole, rather she knows that it’s a necessary evil in some cases. In a choice of kill one to save a thousand, or other similar situations, the choice would always come to killing the one, but never in cold blood. Murder and killing are two separate things to the enlightened soul. While some may look at it as being too soft, all life is precious, and to spare someone is true strength.

Along with these others traits, Ashuri has a strong respect for other’s opinions. As a leader she is required to take other’s opinions into consideration, and she will do this often. She doesn’t believe in being the totalitarian dictator, and would rather head what wisdom others have to offer. However, while she may respect your opinion that doesn’t mean she’ll take disobeying lightly. She respects others and in turn would have them respect her as well. If a shinobi denies a mission due to their opinions or something else she has no problem with finding someone else, but to disobey her orders will result in due punishment. You don’t want to do this mission for you don’t like someone on it, or feel it is below you, then instead you will find yourself watering flowers, picking up trash, or walking dogs, to name a few.

While this woman is enlightened and the Hokage of the village, that doesn’t mean that she isn’t like everyone else. She has her likes and dislikes, and even hidden sides to her that are rare to be seen or recognized. For one, Ashuri loves fiction. This can be hard to believe of a woman who is able to bend reality to her will. A bit of a book worm, she loves to read about the fictional stories of strange lands and far off places. Of the heroes and villains within the pages. Due to this love of fiction and books, she has a huge library. Another trait she has is her love for dumplings. They’re her favorite thing to eat, and she enjoys trying all different kinds of them, including strange flavors that might be experimented with. Generally she keeps quite a few around due to her loving companion, Muu.

Ashuri is incredibly loyal at her core, and she’s quite defensive of those close to her. Companions, family, friends, all of these things are precious to the woman, and she will do whatever it takes to protect them. As Hokage, the entire village is her family, and she would very readily be willing to die to keep it safe. On a lighter note the woman also has a softer side, to which she loves all things that are cute and cuddly. While this does include the usually fluffy bunny or adorable kitten, she also finds stranger creatures most would be appalled at, adorable. Lizards, snakes, spiders, dragons, all of which have the ability to be cute in their own way, and it’s usually a way that warms her heart and makes her want to pet them.

    Biography

Ashuri was born in the fall late at night on a cool crisp evening. Her parents, both interesting and different in their own ways, were two very different people when they met. Her mother, a proud kunochi of Konoha, a tall and athletic woman, and not a born member of the Garemāru Clan. Long blond hair, and clear blue eyes were the woman’s distinguishing features. Her father, a born member of the Garemāru Clan, and a historian. Short silver hair and light green eyes made up his features. While her mother was on a mission they met, and they fell in love, and the rest was history, or so the young Ashuri was told.

As a child, the future Hokage lived in the clan’s compound. She was brought up on their ways, and was schooled in their spiritual education. From her mother she was taught the ways of the shinobi. Since this sometimes differed from the teachings of the clan, her mother did her best to teach her daughter how the two could mix. While very different, it could also translate to have the same meaning underneath. From her father, the girl learned history. Wars, battle, peace, the different nations and different clans and how everything came to be. He was a man of knowledge, but he also loved books, and all kinds of books, and from him, his daughter found a love for them as well.

Growing up, the young child’s mother was usually off on missions, and her father would still have to work, but it taught her how to take care of herself from a young age. Plus, she had spiritual training with the elders of the clan that would usually keep her pretty busy. The training itself wasn’t terribly hard, but it was constant. Still, the girl knew that the harder she worked the greater the reward would be in the end. On top of the spiritual training, her mother gave her strict rules of training programs to follow. Like her mother, Ashuri too wanted to become a kunochi of the Land of Fire.

She waited and trained as much as she could, until it was finally time, and on her eighth birthday she was able to enter the ninjutsu training of the academy. This was a dream come true for the girl, who wanted nothing more than to help others, just like her mother. Her father couldn’t be prouder of his daughter, and supported her in all her choices. He’d also help her study whatever she was having trouble with, and if she ever was stuck on something he couldn’t help her with, he’d find someone who could.

While training at the academy, Ashuri made a whole bunch of new friends, and despite the odd appearance of her clan, she never had worries of being made fun of. The young girl always had a blast while training at the academy, and she made good grades while there as well. Not a prodigy or top of her class, but she had grade enough to be recognized for them, and even became the class representative of her class. When she was ten they were even treated to be able to see a real chunin exam held in their village. Still, graduation day couldn’t come soon enough, and before anyone even knew it, they were performing their examination to become Genin, having turned twelve. As a present surprise, her mother returned from her mission in time to be there after the exam, and as a treat, the family went out to eat together, a cherished memory she holds dear.

As a genin, Ashuri was assigned to a team lead by a male Jonin named Idate. Her two teammates were both female, one was a member of the Inuzuka Clan, named Hotaru. The other was a kenjutsu user named Sen. The three of them had been close friends while in the academy, so the girl was thrilled to be on the same team as them. Hotaru was always quiet, and as odd as it was, her companion seemed to do more talking than her. Sen on the other hand was a hot headed girl who liked to run head first into things. Their leader, Idate just seemed normal in comparison, and he had a way of always trying to keep the peace.

When it came to missions, and a form of leadership, the other two tended to look to Ashuri herself. They looked up to her, and she didn’t have a problem filling that role. She learned by watching their sensei give instructions, picked up on what positions each one of them worked the best in, and then found that through the history lessons she’d learned from her father, could easily come up with strategies that worked well in any situation. Still, these mock missions weren’t live combat, and everyone was itching for a real mission to test their combat skills.

This hope was soon answered, but it wasn’t what any of them had been expecting. It was in the summer when they were told to meet up, and were given a C rank mission. It was supposed to be a simple escort mission from a small village in the south to the Leaf. The most danger they were expecting was maybe a couple bandits, but it was information that was withheld, that caused the problem. The man they were escorting was in hiding, posing as a merchant when in reality he was actually a noble man. This soon became apparent to Idate who managed to keep the whole thing under wrap, despite the danger this mission now posed.

For the first half of the mission everything seemed to be going as planned. Hotaru and her companion kept a look out for any enemies that may be approaching, their sense of smell something that was honestly admirable. Sen, who was complaining of being bored, sliced at the long grass, low branches, and such as she passed them. Ashuri kept a watch of their surroundings, and kept her eyes on their charge. Idate seemed always on edge, which was a new side for any of the three genin to see, but they trusted their sensei, and kept to the mission. Honestly, it seemed like they’d be home free. Only a couple more hours until they’d reach the village’s gates.

An hour and a half away, and they walked right into an ambush. Shinobi hired from some small village made up the ambush, and they knew what they were doing, targeting Idate and Hotaru first. Sen rushed to Hotaru’s aid, while Ashuri stayed close to their charge. She managed to trap one of the enemies in her genjutsu, the men clearly underestimating what the three girls could do. With one down, it was now three on two, but still the enemy had the upper hand, and their sensei was out cold. Hotaru and Sen backed up, looking to Ashuri for what to do next, it was in this moment that she truly realized her leadership skills.

Coming up with a plan she sent her teammates forward, while she did her part. It wasn’t easy, and it clearly left a lasting impression on all three genin, but they did it, they won. In the end, they hadn’t had to take the lives of any of their would-be attackers, and this was a fact that their sensei was proud of them for. Only Sen had suffered any real injuries during the fight, but being how she was, she brushed it off claiming it was only a scratch. A scratch that still landed her in the hospital for a few days, but they couldn’t hold her for more than that. All in all, the mission was a successes and they started being trusted with more missions of a higher difficulty, but nothing ever came close to that first one.

Over the next couple years, the three girls grew close, and they learned a lot from their sensei. He took each of them under his wing honing their separate skills and letting not only their strengths shine through, but showing them how they could make up for their weaknesses. Ashuri was never much of a fighter, and though her clan did make up the ranks of shinobi, they all had their own way of handling situations. She too had to find a way, and Idate helped her with that. He brought in a friend of his who was skilled in genjutsu to help her learn new techniques and study ways she could use her genjutsu to help out her teammates and compliment her other skills.

Days went by quickly, and missions came and went. Each moment was a precious one, and while they had their ups and downs, they all enjoyed the time they spent together. Still, they were looking forwards to the next step, eager to continue their careers as kunochi of the Leaf. That next step they knew would be the Chunin exams, and so Idate started to train them to be ready for the next exam. An exam that would come when they were just barely fourteen. The exam would be help within Kiri, which meant a few days before they’d be on a boat. Each day that drew them closer to the exam built up more excitement, and between Hotaru and Ashuri, they were pretty sure Sen was going to explode.

Finally the day of the exam was upon them. Idate walked with them, going over last minute things with his genin. He wished them luck on the exam, warned them to have faith in each other and follow their training, and then left them to head inside on their own. Looking between one another, Sen was the first one who started bounding up to the door of the building. Hotaru shrugged and tagged after her, leaving Ashuri to follow behind. When they entered they were greeting by an open area with a large group of other people. Their ages ranged drastically, but the three of them weren’t worried about it. They quietly found a place to sit and wait for the exam to start.

For the first part of the exam each genin was given a piece of folded paper and divided into three groups, one for each member of the team. Two of the teams were then lead through different doors away from eachother and the third team. Once everyone was in the room they were assigned, they could open the folded paper. On the paper was written out a mission that would be impossible unless someone would be sacrificed. In order to pass the exam you had to pick one of your teammates to be sacrificed, and each teammate would have to pick the same person. Now, after the initial shock of the idea of sacrificing a teammate, Ashuri paused and reread the mission three times. She narrowed her eyes, Idate’s words ringing in her head. There had to be something she was missing here.

A ninja never sacrifices their teammates. And Ashuri could never make a decision like that. People in the room shuffled out, turning in their paper. Others looked around, unsure of what to do. Some seemed like they had contact with their team and with a sure grin on their face would hand in their papers. No, this was wrong. Ashuri crossed her arms. “I refuse.” The words left her mouth and the entire room went quiet. The proctor stood up, eyes for the smug genin who held her ground. He walked towards her slowly, the entire world besides him seemed to stop moving. He stopped at her desk and looked down at her, Ashuri simply keeping his gaze unwavering. “That is correct,” he said simply. And just like that the test was over. Turns out Sen took one look at the paper, crumpled it and threw it at the proctor in her room before anyone had a chance to do anything else. Hotaru even refused to answer. They were moving on to part two.

There was no time for rest, or even to regroup because anyone left in the room was told to hold still. Anyone who turned in a paper that had a name was removed, disqualified. Anyone who remained would now be a unit for the second test. After a few minutes of going over the papers, and checking the other rooms, they were given the next set of instructions. They would be moved to a small island off the main land. The people in this room would be your new teammates, and the goal was to get to the center without being caught. There were traps, security, and of course, the other teams. This meant that if you were spotted, caught in a trap, or died, you were out. Plus, if you did choose to fight the other team it could mean fighting your teammates.

They moved out immediately after these instructions, and soon the chaos ensured. The older genin immediately started to argue over who would be the one in charge. No one was giving orders, and if they were others were giving different orders. This was exactly what the proctors wanted. They were making a commotion the minute they arrived, and they’d be found immediately. Ashuri frowned, but made a choice. She took those who were staying out of it, and pulled them off to the side, convincing them to hide, and wait. Exactly what she knew was coming did. Security showed up, anyone spotted was out. From those who had hidden, they suddenly turned to the young barely fourteen year old, and looked for guidance. Ashuri was the leader now whether she wanted to be or not.

Well, they couldn’t stay here, so it was time to move, but first… Ashuri needed to know what each person was capable of. After a few minutes of figuring everything out, she was able to formulate a strategy to move through the traps, the security, and to avoid the other teams. A fight was not something they needed right now. Still, this large of a group, it was a challenge she was never used to. The girl had to admit, she really admired generals in those wars her father had taught her about. How they could control hundreds of people was really something, the group she had wasn’t even a quarter of that size and yet…

It took a little bit but they finally made it to the middle, safe and sound. Now came the part she had been least looking forwards to. The combat part. This was a fast paced Chunin exam, and that was the point. They moved quickly along in the prelims, not giving anyone time to take a break or recoup. The real world wouldn’t let them so why let them here. The matches went by so fast it was hard to keep up with everything going on. Hotaru had lost but put up one hell of a fight, and the hot headed Sen was out as well, but Ashuri was holding her own.

Her prelim fight was against a young boy from Suna. She went into the fight knowing that she had to win without causing unnecessary pain or fighting, and so she’d rely on the teachings of her clan and her genjutsu. The first thing she did when the fight started was to make the Suna nin think she had the element of fire. Creating the genjutsu of her Demonic Fire, she had it follow the Suna nin until it enveloped him making him believe he was on fire. Next she used the False Place Technique to disorient him into thinking he was farther from the edge than he was. It was only a matter of time until he rung himself out. Ashuri was the winner.

Other matches came and went and she went into the semifinals with two kumo ninja who appeared to be brothers and a ninja from Kiri. She was up against one of the brothers, and he seemed to have a tail. A plan formed in her mind, but first she needed to be careful. They had a strange teleportation jutsu. Her third eye helped her out a lot with this fight, able to see the twitches of everything, including the tail and with the increased vision she had she could easily dodge the poofing boy. All she needed was one good point to use something different on him, and soon her chance came. She purposefully took a hit from the boy to pop her genjutsu. Transformation Technique: Body Modification. Her goal was to make the boy think that he’d forcibly just lost his tail.

Without his tail, he was off balance, and unnerved. He was young, and she honestly felt a little bad about this. It was time to show her true element as she created Snow Storm Swallows to circle the boy, honing in on him and knocking him around, cutting as they passed by. Since it would be only a matter of time until he figured out her trick, she used her speed to dart in and land blows before quickly darting out. Her swallows still darting in and out as well until she’d forced him down, and she was moving on.

The finals put Ashuri up against the Kiri ninja that had beaten the other storm brother. Ashuri had been keeping an eye on that fight as well, she’d learned much, and the minute the fight started she was quick to set her plan into motion. She’d end this quickly. Transformation Technique: Body Modification was her first move, causing the Kiri ninja to feel and see their hands melt away. Without hands they couldn’t do jutsu, or summon. Without missing a beat she quickly went into her next jutsu, Demonic Illusion: Tree of Sorrow. The tree spawned from the arena reaching out and quickly wrapping up the Kiri ninja. It held them tightly, blinding them in place. They had no choice but to give in. Ashuri was promoted to Chunin.

While a chunin, Ashuri stayed with Hotaru, Sen, and Idate. They continued to do missions together, and Ashuri continued to keep up with her spiritual training with her clan. For a while, life was completely normal. Apart from the fact that she’d unlocked the awakened the second form of her third eye, everything else was simple and easy. Their missions also seemed easy and simple, and life was good. That being until October rolled around. The Fourth Shinobi war was the first time any other the girls had seen war. Ashuri found herself in the midst of the first assault on her home.

There were two fights going on now, one to protect the village from these attackers, and one to keep the civilians out of harm’s way. Ashuri would play both roles where it was necessary, mainly devoting her time to trying to get the civilians to safety. This was easier said than done with all the explosions and fighting going on around her, but she did her best to keep them safe. Using her abilities she pushed herself to keep buildings from crumbling, and to keep debris from falling on top of those trying to run to safety.

The fight was drawn out, and the destruction all but completely whipped out the village, but the Will of Fire stayed strong and they survived. However, the current Hokage was put into a comatose state, leaving the village to have to fall on the new sixth Hokage, but before they could be appointed, the next part of this story played out in the form of the Fourth Shinobi War’s battles.

The war itself lasted only a few days, but during this time the casualties mounted from all villages. Everyone had a part to play, and if that meant working together with those you didn’t like or trust, you didn’t have a choice. The fighting and bloodshed was like nothing Ashuri had ever experienced before. The only thing that kept her going was her will to protect those she loves, her family, her friends, and though still being rebuilt, her village. She was put into a squad that also included her old teammate, Sen, and though rarely, she caught sight of Hotaru working with the medical shinobi to provide relief to those injured. This was the most horrific thing the girl had ever seen.

When the war ended, they found themselves once more in a time of peace, but it wasn’t just a time of peace, it was a time to rebuild and to mourn those lost. Word had reached the three of them that their sensei Idate had fallen in the war, and they went to his grave together. He had taught them and trained them, and he would be missed by all three. Though she’d been injured, Ashuri had also learned her mother had thankfully survived. In the end it was a hollow victory, but for her service during the attack on the village as well in during the war, Ashuri was promoted to Tokebetsu Jounin at the age of forteen.

Once the war was over, it was a time of peace. Rebuilding was underway on the whole village, and there was even support from the other villages to help. It seemed as if things were finally returning to normal. As a new Tokebetsu Jounin of the leaf, Ashuri helped rebuild the village as much as she could. She created homes, and shops, items and clothing, and anything that could be beneficial to the villagers. Of course, the woman was still going out on missions, helping her home make money by being one of the ninja who could still take the missions those clients paid the village for.

Shortly after the teen turned fifteen she was given a new opportunity. While out on a mission things started to go from bad to worse quickly. The mission was supposed to be a search and rescue. She and two others were sent to find a hunter ninja who had disappeared on a mission just south of the border with the Land of Grass. No foul play was suspected from the shinobi of the Land of Grass, but they weren’t sure what they were going to find.

Ashuri organized them carefully as they headed out to find the missing ninja. They were about fifty meters from the last known communication point when things started to go wrong. They found their target, he was gravely injured, and had some kind of sickness. From what they could find there wasn’t anything around to have caused this, and even more worrisome were the strange symptoms. One of the others didn’t have training in medical ninjutsu, but he had little knowledge of different sicknesses and he couldn’t peg this one.

After binding the injuries to the point where the ninja could be moved, they started their trek back to the village. It would take a week at a slower pace, having to rest from time to time in order to not strain the ninja’s injuries too much, but at least they’d found him. It was a few days in when their sickness guide became sick. It wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities that this was contagious, and they’d taken actions to not let it spread to them, but something about the sickness wasn’t right, and despite their efforts it soon took hold on him. They needed to keep moving, but returning to the village was no longer an opportunity, they would have to find a place outside the village and meet with medical shinobi there.

Ashuri picked a place outside the village and radioed in that they’d meet there. Creating a copy of her other teammates summon, they made a makeshift wagon and loaded the two sick ninja in it. They’d keep it safe as the two summons pulled them to their rendezvous point. Hours away from their destination, bandits tracked them down. The summoner was already fighting the starting symptoms of the sickness, and things were looking grim for the rest of them. Ashuri seemed to be the only one who hadn’t caught the sickness, but it was only by using her clan’s technique that she managed to keep it away. Still, the bandits seemed surprised to find her not infected.

Fighting them right here and now was not an option, so instead she sent the summoner ahead to the destination. She told her teammate to keep moving and don’t stop for anything, get there, and then he could worry about sending back up if she wasn’t on his trail already. There were only four bandits, but they were working with some kind of poison, and Ashuri wanted a sample of it. It would help them figure out a cure for whatever sickness this was. The four attacked as one, but despite being hidden shinobi, they relied too much on their opponent being weakened from what sickness their airborne weapon caused. This was a fatal flaw for them, and gave Ashuri the opportunity to capture the four of them. She’d had to knock out two of them, but the other two were easily captured with genjutsu and then she simply made it real.

The fight itself didn’t last long, they weren’t exactly S rank nuknin, and in return for not killing them, they gave her a sample of what they’d been using. They claimed it was given to them in order to protect their own, but she wasn’t sure if she believed their story. She kept them trapped, and it wasn’t long before ANBU arrived. She handed over the sample, and the mission ended. They were able to find a cure, and they’d saved the life of the hunter ninja. A few days after the mission, and everyone was back up on their feet.

This mission resulted in Ashuri’s promotion to Jounin. Nothing had gone as planned, and the entire thing had been a set up from the start. Still, they’d managed to pull through and no life was lost. It was later explained that this wasn’t the first time this group had struck, and it would become a priority to find them and hunt them down. With the cure for the strange sickness though, they wouldn’t be as affective in taking down anyone else who was trained. After this mission things seemed to quiet down again. Everything seemed calm and peaceful, but a storm was rising on the horizon. It was during a mission that the now sixteen year old discovered something that would forever change her life.

The mission itself was easy, it was a simple escort mission. Ashuri was one of two body guards for an archeologist. The man was interested in investigating ruins, and the ones he was interested in were located to the south. The area itself was described as a forest along the ocean’s boarder up on a cliff. The man was so pleased with himself explaining that it had been a riddle. “A blaze with fire where the sea, earth, and sky all meet is where the secrets lie.” The other shinobi she was working with didn’t find the man’s ramblings as interesting as she did, and over the course of the week it took them to reach their destination, the jounin couldn’t help but have her interest perked by the ruins they were going to see.

When they finally arrived, it had been a quiet trip all the way there, no bandits, no enemies, just a smooth mission. The man immediately started running up the hill and pulling out his equipment to explore the ruins. Ashuri and her companion spread out to sweep the area. She took the eastern route and him the western around the ruins. While walking around them, Ashuri could have sworn she saw something that looked like a dragon watching her. She did a double take, but it was gone. The rest of the mission went off without a hitch, and after a couple days, the man was done with his research, and they were returning back to the village.

Over the next couple days that strange creature she’d seen was all that was on her mind. She needed to go back, she could feel that place, like it was where she was supposed to be now. Reporting to the Hokage she had a request to go back, and to her pleasure it was granted. The woman set out immediately, and without the baggage of a normal civilian it didn’t take nearly as long to get there the second time. Now that she was here though, she wasn’t exactly sure what she was looking for.

Wondering the ruins, she moved through them until the sun started to set. She needed a place to set up camp for the night. Just as she found a place, and was setting up to make a fire, the sun dipped below the horizon and a strange glow came from the farthest runes of the ruins to the ocean. Curious, she picked her way carefully towards the glow. Lite up was a rune that hadn’t been there before, and it was in the shape of a dragon. Suddenly a flash of… what seemed like memories… flickered into her mind. She wasn’t sure why, but she followed the instructions of the flash in her head. Reaching her hand out, she touched the rune. She felt like she was on fire, but it was a good feeling. Turning towards the cliff’s edge, she nearly stepped off, and landed through some kind of portal that brought her face to face with that same creature she’d seen before. A dragon.

At first, Ashuri wasn’t sure what was going on. She wasn’t in the Land of Fire anymore, that much was clear. The creature seemed impressed to see her, and immediately jumped at her, crawled into her bag, and tore out of it with her food, which happened to be some dumplings she’d packed for dinner. The dragon munched it happily, and with some annoyance, the woman started asking the creature questions. His name was Muushu, but he liked to go by Muu, and she had really tasty food, did she have anymore? She was in their world, the world of dragons.

The jounin let Muu explain what had happened, and he told her she’d been picked. They’d been watching her, and they liked her, but she’d have to prove herself. Muu led her to meet the rest of the dragons, and she accepted their test. The elder dragon explained it wasn’t so much of a test of strength as a test of character. They were going to teach her, teach her their ways of the world, and allow her to see things from their perspective. If she could learn, she could keep this knowledge. If not, it would be stripped away and she’d never return here again.

Ashuri wasn’t entirely sure how long she’d spent with the dragons, but she was like a sponge to their teachings. Her clan prided itself on being enlightened, but the knowledge that the dragons kept was unlike anything she’d ever read or learned. It was as if she’d spent her life in a darkened hallway lite only by a single candle and the dragons had turned on the lights. She started to understand the world a lot better from them. After ten years of learning, she was given a gift from them, a summoning contract that would be in the form of a dragon tattoo on her back. She’d be the keeper of this contract, but only the dragons were to choose who would sign it. Returning to the Land of Fire was odd, and the world here felt strange, but she was returning home, and bringing this knowledge with her.

When she returned to the village, Ashuri learned how long she’d been gone. She was now twenty six, and ten years had gone by. They’d thought her dead when they’d found the started camp, but she explained as much as she was allowed and told the Hokage she’d be stepping down from her jounin position for now. The dragons had given her much to think about and share, and that was what she intended to do. She’d share this new found knowledge with her clan and those who would listen.

Over the next six years, Ashuri devoted herself to learning and training. Her parents were older now, and retired, so the woman started to take care of them. She was also keeping up with training not only her physical body, but her mental one as well. She still kept up with her old teammates, Sen and Hotaru every now and then. Sen was making a name for herself as a hunter ninja, and Hotaru was becoming a great medical shinobi. Both of them were Jounin now as well, and Hotaru was looking forwards to having her own genin squad soon. Life was peaceful and quiet, and well, kind of boring, apart from the fact that she had a new mouth to feed since Muu insisted on staying with her.

At the age of thirty two, the next big event in the woman’s life took place. Ashuri was asked by Hotaru if she’d come help her team of genin get ready for the Chunin exams that would be held soon. Having nothing better to do, and having missed her old teammate she agreed. They trained and worked hard, and Ashuri could see the Will of Fire glowing strong in the next generation. She was proud of them, but not as proud as Hotaru was. During the exam her team was knocked out before the final rounds of fighting, but Ashuri hung around to see the end. It was during these fights that the Otutsuki attacked.

It was as if she’d never left her kunochi life as Ashuri moved to help with evacuating the civilians and those genin from their village and the others. The Hokage took action, protecting those he could, and directly going in against those attacking their village. Everyone with shinobi training took action, civilians were the first priority. Once everyone was evacuated, Ashuri made sure that the battle between the Hokage and their attacks wouldn’t spread to the village as well. However, within a flash, they were gone. The other Kage of the villages and some shinobi of Konoha set a plan and went into action to rescue the Hokage.

They never came back. Presumed dead.

With nothing else to do, the village had to make a move. They needed a new Hokage, and the other villages would need one too. To her surprise, Ashuri was asked if she’d take up the mantle. Supported by her family as well as her old teammates, the woman agreed. Though only freshly made Hokage, she will do anything to protect her home, and all those who live within it.

The clones themselves can utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clones finally disperse, any new knowledge they have gained is passed back to the original ninja and to any additional clones. This makes Tajuu Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time.
