The Kedamono were not anything special when they first graced the lands. Once upon a time, this clan was a small family that lived in the woods of the modern day Konoha. While they had been around since long before the founding of the nations, they played no part in their creation. Myth and lore run as deep in their veins as the very blood that makes them what they are today. But all legends have an origin.
The story of the Kedemono mythos began one fateful day, when a man named Balvorn was hunting. Among his kin he bore the title as the best hunter. Indeed his hubris was as vast as the sky, and thus was his attitude as egocentric as any king. He went off alone, only to be ambushed by a lone beast. This creature was described as a beautiful, silver monster that looked like it was from a dream. Balvorn wanted it's pelt, and so he chased after it. For three days and three nights he pursed his prey, only to falter just before the catch. That is, until he managed to corner it.
Balvorn's eyes were hungry with greed as he looked at the trapped creature. It was at this moment when the beast spoke, startling the hunter. "Why do you chase me so, I am not food for you, nor have I brought harm to you." Balvorn replied as though it was obvious." I desire your pelt, it is the finest I have ever seen."The silvery mouth of the animal smiled at the hunters words. "You desire a pelt like mine, then you shall have one." And with that, it lunged at the mighty hunter with unsurpassed speed.
Before Balvorn could even make a move, his body was filled with a burning hell for over an hour. He returned home, bringing a few deer along with him. His family ate and asked of his tale. Through gritted teeth, the man claimed nothing beyond the norm occurred, a lie he would regret. That night was a full moon, and he transformed. He became a humanoid wolf, a werewolf. He bit and infected his entire clan, those who survived suffered the same curse. Balvorn was killed by his clan the next day for bringing upon them this curse.
These first Generation Werebeasts had no control over themselves on a moonlit night. When first bitten, most would take till the next full moon till they would first transform. Those who transformed right away were akin to feral beats, never returning to their human form. Their bites would make others like them, mindless beasts who only think like a feral monster. These abominations are known to the clan as the Damned. The ones that don't transform right away will have primal, wolf like urges that little could quell and acted differently from other humans.
However, children born from these infected did not suffer the same curse. Instead, they were able to call upon the beast blood inside of them at will, transforming into a werebeast. The very power that had cursed the clan was now a gift. It would seem the creature that infected Balvorn had a sense of justice, allowing the sins of the father to not taint the children. Thus were how the Kedemono were truly "born". They tended to seclude themselves away from the world, but times would eventually change.
In recent times the clan has produced a small deal of successful and powerful ninja for Konoha. The clan themselves tend to not boast or brag, as they wish to not attract to much attention to themselves. While all is peaceful now, most do not want to be viewed as monsters, instead opting to learn to control themselves and be productive members of society. They have since split their clan into four family houses, or branches, based upon the beast blood. There is a Branch for the wolf, the bear, the feline, and the fox.
Kekkai Genkai/Hidden Technique Description:
All members of the Kedemono are born with Kemono Chi, or beast blood. When accessing the beast blood, a user is able to transform into a werebeast depending upon which branch they fall in. Each type also has their own set of abilities.
Wolf - When transformed, the user will receive a 75% increase to both their Speed and Strength.
Feline - When transformed, the user will receive a 75% increase to Agility and Speed
Bear - When transformed, the user will receive a 150% increase to Strength
Fox - When transformed, the user will receive a 150% increase to Speed.
Aside from the physical attribute increases, clansman also receive a boost to all of their senses, making them on par with their respected animal.
When in their transformed state, members of the clan are unable to utilize most jutsu, as they lose the ability to process chakra like a human, to create and mold seals and perform the technique in question. There are exceptions, such as techniques that require no hand seals or precision (Ex: Chakra cloaks) Additionally, there are no natural means to perform partial transformations.

Description: A base ability, but one strictly forbidden, all members of the clan have the ability to excrete venom in their bites when they are transformed. Should someone be taught how to create their venom, they are able to infect others with the curse that was placed on their forefathers, passing on the genes to create more people with the Kemono Chi.
